However, we do recognize and honor Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If we detect a GPC signal from your browser or device, we will process it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information where required by applicable law.

8. Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect it against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Despite our efforts to protect your personal information, no security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Security Measures

Our security measures include technical safeguards such as encryption of data in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption protocols, secure socket layer (SSL) technology for secure communications, firewalls and intrusion detection systems to prevent unauthorized access, regular security testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses, and access controls and authentication mechanisms including multi-factor authentication where appropriate. Administrative safeguards include employee training on data protection and privacy best practices, confidentiality agreements with staff and contractors to protect sensitive information, limited access to personal information on a need-to-know basis, and regular security policy reviews and updates to ensure our practices remain current with evolving threats. Physical safeguards include secure data centers with restricted access and monitoring, environmental controls and monitoring to protect hardware, and backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure data availability and integrity.

Data Breach Response

We have established procedures to detect, respond to, and report data breaches. If we experience a breach that affects your personal information, we will investigate the breach promptly to determine its scope and impact, take steps to contain and remediate the breach, notify you as required by applicable law within the timeframes specified by law, notify applicable regulators as required by law, and provide you with information about steps you can take to protect yourself. We maintain an incident response plan that is regularly tested and updated.

Limitations

Despite our best efforts, no security measures are completely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information or that our systems will never be breached. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access. We recommend that you use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where available.

We may deny deletion requests in certain circumstances, such as when we need the information to comply with legal obligations, establish or defend legal claims, detect and prevent fraud, or fulfill other legitimate purposes permitted by law.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller. This right applies when processing is based on your consent or performance of a contract and is carried out by automated means. For objections based on legitimate interests, we will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
